No study has been done in Malaysia to determine the real causes of teenage pregnancies. But the famous reasons given are the lack of sex education and the internet. Statistic from National Registration Department reveal that between 2000 and 2008, about 257 000 babies were registered without the names of their fathers on the birth certificates. This means average 88 babies were born out of wedlock each day during these nine years. Another statistic from Women Ministry revealed cases of abandoned babies numbered 407 over the past five year. But these statistic cannot tell us the full story yet, WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE !!!
